Graduates of The Popular School of Arts and Trades Pitesti

 

 

 

    According to the address no.1 from 12th of September 1958, at the proposal of the Culture and Education Section – The Ministry of Culture and Education, it was approved for the school year 1958-1959 the foundation of an Art Popular School in Pitesti, with external sections in 6 departments.


       Were remarked the guitar classes, managed by professor Maria Boeru who was going to publish the first guitar method for the Art Popular School, the choreography classes and a plastic art section with 12 students at Ramnicu Valcea.


         Through the address 174 dating the 23rd of May 1959 towards the Cuture and Education Section, The Art Popular School asks for the exam committees' approval, which were held during 10-15 of June 1959. From the exams' minutes, we find out that in the acting class was enrolled Viorel Iliescu, graduated of I.A.T.C., at present, actor at the State Theatre in Timisoara, the student Mariana Mihut, I.A.T.C. graduated, at present, a very well known actress of theatre and film, the student Nicolae Banica, actor from Pitesti, Manager of the Puppets Theatre and student Doina Papp, editor at the Romanian Radio television.


        In the violin class promotes in the 2nd year the student Mircea Nadejde, graduated of the Ciprian Porumbescu Conservatory, than orchestra chief on the radio, and in the plastic art class promotes in the 2nd year the well known painter Lucian Cioata.


       In 1963, in the occasion of the Exhibition from the plastic art class appears the name of Sorin Ilfoveanu, who follows the courses of the Plastic Arts Institute "Nicolae Grigorescu" and than he obtains in 1974, the Republican Prize for painting. Lately, Mr. Sorin Ilfoveanu became teacher at the painting department and Rector of the Art National University in Bucharest.


        At the Plastic Arts Sections, between the graduated of the Art Popular School are also Gheorghe Pantelie, who after that, follows the courses of the Fine Arts Institute "N. Grigorescu" in Bucharest, the painting department, and within the department, we mention the names of the following teachers Mariana Senila and Gheorghe Vraneantu.

 


         Ranked among the graduates of the canto classes are Elisabeta Ticuta, who at the present moment is appreciated as being a remarkable interpreter of the Arges region. It is the period when is founded the vocal group and the choral band, directed by the professor Ion Grecu, the school's Manager. These two bands will become traditional for the following period.


        In 1970, the acting classes sustain their diploma exams on the stage of the "Al. Davila's Theatre. The celebration of a decade's ending ever since the school's foundation was marked by the publication of the first no. of the magazine entitled "Preludii", appeared in 1969. During the years were obtained several and important prizes in the field of cult music, the National Festival of classical dance and music "Darclee", at all the editions of the competition Festival " The Golden Chrysanthemum" in Targoviste, at light music festivals and competitions, "The Golden Tulip" in Pitesti, at the folk music festivals and competitions, ‚The Golden Narcissus" in Costesti, "The Rock Flower" in Rucar, the modern and society dance competitions, "The Crystal Cup" in Bucharest, "The Flowers' Dance" in Pitesti.


         In 1992 is founded within the Art's School in Pitesti the choreography class – folk dance-the "Doruletul" folk group. The ‚Doruletul" folk group succeeds a quick affirmation, participating from the very beginning at national and international prestige events. From the already rich track records we can remind: the International Festivals from Bulgaria, Turkey, Czech Republic and Greece.
